Anchoring Information

We currently have about thirty moorings. These are in the southern half of the harbor and outside to the north. The northern half of the inner harbor has been silted in and is unusable. A rock wall divides this area and MUST be avoided.

There is a public dock on the southern shore. Water depth at mean low is EIGHT (8) feet but the depth at mean low in the approach channel is FIVE (5) feet, with a sandbar that has a depth of only FOUR (4) feet.

The dock is for loading and unloading of guest, as there is a 1/2 HOUR time limit. There is NO OVERNIGHTING allowed at the dock. Guest may anchor north of the northern most mooring/boat. The bottom is silty mud and provides excellect holding.

A public launch ramp is also available, caution must be exercised due to shallow conditions. High tide is best for launch and retrieval. Parking for cars and/or trailers is in the Metro-North Train lot on weekends and "train schedule" holidays only. (also, after 6PM on weekdays)

While docks are available for the loading and unloading of guests, all member's boats are moored. Moorings remain from approximately May through October.
